Then they need to do one thing: turn the iM into the Japanese Golf, complete with a GTI-fighting TRD version.

Or a TMG version?

I honestly think TMG should be Toyota's AMG, even though TMG say they have no interest in producing road cars.

Not gonna lie, until just now I didn't even know they existed. But if they do it now, everyone will say they're copying Merc. They need to have TMG just do the TRD version. Its their thing now anyway. Or maybe bring back the GT-S moniker.

That's what they should have done with the CT250h shell and they botched it completely. I have very little hope that this'll become anything other than the next xA.

They should sell this in the US:

Kinja'd!!!

We got those in Indonesia, Toyota Mark X Supercharged. 3.5L Supercharged V6 with 350hp and 350lb-ft of torque and RWD or optional AWD. For just a little bit more than Toyota Camry.

They need to turbo that iM to 200 hp. AWD, and manual. The true japanese competitor to the Fiesta ST.

They should make an Avalon wagon or something... Or an LS wagon.

Or team up with Chevy for an LS powered LS wagon.

it's unlikely, it's been in Europe and asia for 2 years already and the Sport has 134hp and is regarded by the press as being OK but not as fun as rivals in the handling department. Maybe they could put an avensis motor in it.

I'd say pair it with AWD, a 6-Speed manual and a turbocharger and they've got a pretty good GTI and WRX competitor. If only Subaru would decide to make a WRX hatch again....

Apparently they still make the God-awful xD. So this has room to go in a different direction.

Relevant to who? Enthusiasts? Toyota doesn't care to be relevant to enthusiasts (apart from the GT86), nor do they need to. Toyota exists to sell cars and you don't do that by catering to the small minority that is enthusiasts. Cars that cater to us are secondary to high volume cars to all but a few manufacturers.
